speeding
A conviction for a speeding offence can have a devastating effect on your life as you could lose your driving licence if you accumulate penalty points. Many motorists simply pay the fine and accept the penalty points when they receive a speed camera letter.
However, quite often the Police and the prosecution cannot prove the case against you.
You may think it is easier to simply accept the fine and the points for the convication. However, be careful because when you accumulate penalty points you are at risk as shown in the penalty points table below:
No Points – Keep it that way so that if you get any points you will have to disclose this to your insurers. Your insurance premiums could increase.
3 Points – If you are a new driver then you are on the brink of your licence being revoked and having to take a re-test.
6 Points – You are close to losing your licence. You are going to have to be very careful that you do not get any more penalty points.
9 Points – You are on the verge of losing your licence. One more offence and you will be banned under the totting up procedures unless you can show that there exceptional circumstances for the Court to allow you to keep it.
Basically, even if your licence is clean, it is important that you contact us so that you do not get any penalty points or fines whatsoever. Call us now on 0800 731 9042.
